#BahrainGP - the best social media from Sakhir

Sunday's 2017 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix was full of action on track, but there was also plenty going on behind the scenes in the build-up to the race weekend. Here's our round-up of just a few of the highlights...

Congrats to Toto and Susie

Jack Wolff - new son to Mercedes team boss Toto and former Williams tester Susie - already has perfect F1 timing: he waited until the day after a Grand Prix to arrive!

;

Welcome to Bahrain

From new arrivals to race arrivals - as always, Bahrain laid on all manner of entertainment to make fans feel very much at home in Sakhir.

;

In the pink

Long-time Ferrari enthusiast and Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason was one of the famous faces to be found in the Scuderia's Bahrain garage.

;

Bullish Beatles?

John, Paul, George and Ringo? No, it's Max, Daniil, Daniel and Carlos - the Red Bull boys' alternative take on the Fab Four's famous album cover.

;

Feeling fruity

Keeping cool in the desert? Which route would you take? Ice cream, or the less conventional Carlos Sainz alternative?

;

Happy Birthday - Part One

Carlos Sainz takes to Twitter to wish his old man - two-time World Rally Champion Carlos Snr - many happy returns (all 55 of them!)

;

Easter bunny...

...or Mad March Hare? We'll let you decide. Williams spotted this guy in the wonderland that is the Bahrain International Circuit.

;

Back atcha Christian!

When Red Bull's Christian Horner suggested that McLaren boss Zak Brown must be mad to let Fernando Alonso race in the Indy 500, this was Brown's response - a reminder of Horner's scantily clad, Superman-style victory celebrations in Monaco a few years back.

;

Renault's house guest

French DJ and producer Klingande - real name Cedric Steinmyller - was a very welcome visitor at Renault.

;

Choc-car-holic Grosjean?

What better way to celebrate Easter than with a chocolate replica of your cherished F1 car? Though it looks like it's lost it's T-wing, Romain.

;

We all stand together!

Working with Jolyon Palmer is a tough gig. Not only do you have to prepare the Renault star's car, you also have to keep pace with his punishing F1 fitness routine.

;

Life's a beach

First chocolate, now soaking up the rays on the sand - it seems Haas's Romain Grosjean was pretty relaxed in the Bahrain build-up.

;

Where's Kimi?

Renault have some fun with footage of the Enstone team's former driver taking an unexpected detour through the desert after his Ferrari let him down in Friday's opening practice session.

;

Happy Birthday - Part Two

The last time the Williams founder celebrated a landmark birthday - his 70th - Pastor Maldonado won the Spanish Grand Prix for his team. On his 75th, he might have to be content with cake. Congratulations nonetheless Sir Frank!

;

A tricky beast to handle

Jolyon Palmer demonstrated his fine touch and delicate handling skills by breaking into Q3 on Saturday - and again on Sunday morning pre-race when he got up close and personal with this bird of prey. Unfortunately his race didn't exactly take off - Palmer slipped from 10th to 13th by the flag...

;

Fighting fit - Part 1

It turns out Sainz doesn't pull his punches on track or off it - at least if his training videos are anything to go by. He was in the wars again on Sunday, clashing with Williams' Lance Stroll...

;

A star turn in Sakhir

British supermodel and actress Naomi Campbell was a special guest on the Sakhir grid. Her presence had an impact on the drivers too - at least we think that's why Daniel Ricciardo was trying out his best poses...

;

Track lights out, stage lights on

If the racing action wasn't treat enough, the fans in Bahrain were treated to some of the finest international acts on the planet - including legendary musician and producer Steve Aoki and the king of Latin pop, Enrique Iglesias.

;

Fight fit, part 2

Less than three months after suffering serious back injuries in his crash at the Race of Champions, Pascal Wehrlein was finally back in action in Bahrain - and he silenced all his recent critics with a fantastic showing to capture 11th in what was his first race with new team Sauber.
